The Fort Worth Animal Emergency Hospital (FWAEH) are here to care for your pet when your primary veterinarian is not available. Whether serious, life-threatening problems or minor emergencies, we are a fully-functional hospital with capabilities of the entire specialty facility. Working closely with veterinary clinics in Fort Worth and the DFW metroplex, our practice is open 24/7 including weekends and holidays to provide immediate emergency treatment for your pets.

Conditions that usually require emergency treatment can include:

  • Trauma patients, including those hit by cars, bite, bullet, knife or burn injuries
  • Animals having trouble breathing
  • Pets in shock; Signs of shock can include weakness, pale mucous membranes in their mouth, cold extremities and an abnormal heart rate
  • Animals having problems urinating or are not producing urine
  • Pets with serious neurologic disease such as coma, paralysis or seizures that are not responding to medications

Our emergency trained veterinary clinicians and technicians focus on evaluating your pet’s condition quickly so that appropriate treatment can begin. Our emergency team evaluates, diagnoses and treats a range of medical problems, including those that may require surgery. In the event that care requires emergency surgical intervention, our experienced staff in state-of-the-art facilities is able to provide appropriate care. We work with other veterinary specialists in our building to provide the highest quality medicine for your pet including referral if needed.

In the event your pet needs hospitalization, our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is designed for comfort and safety with sophisticated vital signs monitoring equipment and other technology to address your pet’s health needs.
